My wife and I have known Junior & Minguito for many years. We have watched them grow from smiling boys shining shoes on the streets of Sosua into the fine young adults they are today. They are very proud of their native home, Haity, but I think that Haity should be just as proud of them! I am sure that with the right help and guidance their ‘Haity Up’ project will be a great success. Good luck guys!

These two young men, Minguito Deshommes and Junior Dominic (17 and 18 years) are a testimony to all that is good in the human spirit. These young men have been taking the Dreams to Reality Course from me here in the Dominican Republic. Ten years ago they made their living as shoe shine boys in Sosua, when a few years ago, a generous Haitian from Canada gave them the biggest tip of their lives—he paid for their English Lessons. Now they sell to tourists near the beach using their English language skills, a much better situation than working on the streets shining shoes.

They speak and understand English quite well, but their reading and writing of English is at a first or second grade level. It might take them hours to go through the material that would take your or me just minutes. But they don ‘t care how long it takes. They have a dream for a better life for themselves and for Haiti. They are kind, gentle, hardworking, honest boys. Please support them in their dream by creating your HaitiUP! profile to support Minguito and Junior and their dream for “Haiti to go UP!”

The Dreams to Reality Project wholeheartedly supports the Haiti UP! Project. Please join us with your show of support by writing some words of encouragement and registering for a HaitiUp Social Network Profile at http://www.thevisionscene.com/?page_id=4.

I had an opportunity to meet these two gentlemen on our mission trip from Canada. They were hired to be our translators, they were professional and kind. We were blessed to have them be our friends and share in this dream of theirs. We can support them in purchasing a T-shirt and spread their dream. I look forward to following their growth as men who are going to make a difference.

First of all, let me say: Thank you. Thank you for your tireless support of children in several ways. , I want you to know, that your commitment does not go unnoticed.
My name is Luken Ermilus I’m twenty two (22) years old I was born in the poorest and the furriest province of Haiti.i’m living in port-au-prince specially at tabarre 52.and I’m also the second child in a family of seven (7) children, I have two brothers and 4 sisters i left my mom and my dad to came in the capital to continue and have a better education and then to searched also for a better life but nothing change, me and my family separated since I was a little boy but it’s not my fault either my dad and my mom fault, it’s life fault. There is something in my life that I never want to explain to other people. it’s the situation of my life and my family life. I remember one day I was talking to someone and then he asked how the situation of my life and my family life is. And I was afraid to explain him how it’s and he said to me how would you want someone give you something without asking? in a spite of all bad situation I studied very hard to finished with my high school but after finishing with high school I thought I would had a chance to go to university. My dad and my mom don’t even have enough to eat I wonder myself how would they help me to go university? After along researching on the net I discover your website and I started to read the good services you are providing the world. May you please help to find someone to help go university? Could you please help me to continue with going to school not high school but college if you do that to me I will be very glad? I rely on you please help me in this case.

THESE GUYS HAVE GREAT HEARTS – I work with a small school/nutrition project for 30+ very poor local children which needs volunteers for helping with the education programme!!

Despite Junior and Minguito being very busy with Haiti-Up they immediately offered to help out there one day a week and to help with communication.

They deserve all good things in life – their can-do attitude is great/inspirational and really looking forward to working with (and learning from) them!!
